COACHING STAFF
Coach Doug has over 15 years of Travel Softball Coaching experience. He has coached from 10U thru 18U. His Sage 95 team won over 15 tournaments including the 16U VA State Title, 2 Top 10 Finishes at Nationals and his players went on to some of the top Colleges such as Duke, UVA, Bowdoin, Wesleyan & Middlebury. Doug then coached Sage 2004 to the 12U VA State Title, and another top 10 Finish at Nationals. Last year, he led his 13U Lady Lightning team to another top 10 finish at Nationals.
Coach Kaufman is a strong teacher of fundamentals, advanced team strategy, and is one of the best in-game coaches around.
Coach Kaufman strongly believes in teaching his players to stay calm and be their best under pressure situations, to be smart, quick decision -makers, and to maintain a passion for the game.

ASSISTANT COACH Dave Kohan
Coach Kohan enters his 4th season of coaching. He is a strong teacher of fundamentals and excellent pitching coach.
ASSISTANT COACH Krystal Smith
Krystal Smith was a starter at University of Kentucky and help lead them to their first ever WCWS appearance in 2014, with signature wins over Oklahoma & UCLA. Krystal was an All-Region player for Stonewall Jackson HS and is from Bristow, VA. She is an excellent instructor and knows what it takes to compete at the next level. Krystal has a degree in Business Administration and works locally.
Assistant Coach Erin Calpin
Erin played D1 Ball at George Mason where she was 2nd on the team with a .285 Average and a .965 fielding pct. for the Patriots in 2017.
Erin played Travel ball for Coach Kaufman's Sage 95 team, leading them 5 tournament victories in 2013. Erin was a 4 year starter at 3rd Base for McLean High School.
Erin is an excellent instructor and has great knowledge and understanding of the game. This is her 3rd season coaching with the Team!
